Self-study research : how is my vocabulary teaching practice adapted to an online setting with young learners?

The purpose of the self-study research is to analyze how my teaching practice is adapted to an online setting teaching vocabulary to young learners. The research begins by explaining the differences between younger and older learners in their lexical development due to the age factor. I examine the information gathered from several studies that explain the relationship between age and learners’ cognitive development in acquiring words. Furthermore, the self-study includes the TBLT (Task-based language teaching) characteristics to teach vocabulary to young learners. In this view, how tasks can be adapted to enrich young learners’ capacity to produce the language orally and written. Additionally, since my teaching practice has been characterized by teaching deliberate vocabulary, I explored whether vocabulary can be taught incidentally and deliberatively. The research concludes with analyzing my activities to teach vocabulary with the theory presented, particularly identifying a pattern.
